For one time only this summer three artist run events, N.I.P | SONIC SCOPE | UPGRADE! will collaborate and create a special new media performance event across Lisbon city. The program includes EXHIBITIONS + PUBLIC TALKS + WORKSHOP + LIVE PERFORMANCES.

N.I.P - New Interfaces for Performance

N.I.P. is a European network, touring event and workshop, developed by the Bristol (UK) based media, live art and research company Polar Produce. N.I.P aims to extending the possibilities of real-time interaction between performer-instrument-audiences in live performative contexts. The 2007 programme focused on gesture and movement based interaction and toured to Bristol, Amsterdam, Lisbon

For the final part of the 2007 series in Lisbon N.I.P have teamed up with Sonic Scope Music Festival and Upgrade!

Sonic Scope is Lisbon’s annual transdisciplary experimental music and video art festival. Established in 2001 it´s curated by Nuno Moita and André Gonçalves with photo documentary from João Vicente. The festival has been produced by the portuguese experimental music label Grain of Sound.

Upgrade!

Lisboa20.pt/upgrade

Upgrade! is an international network of artists and practitioners interested in creating media arts works. Lisbon Upgrade! is a monthly gathering of new media artists, curators and interested people. Curated by Luis Silva it is held at Lisboa 20 Arte Contemporânea.
