A integrar o programa N.I.P. em Lisboa, a Galeria Lisboa20 apresenta quatro trabalhos dos respectivos artistas participantes: André Sier (PL), Isaac Carlos (NL), Torst Lauschmann (UK) e Toktek (NL).

“Struct 7”, André Sier (PT)

André Sier. N.I.P. UK 2007 Works exhibited include, ‘Struct 7’, continues André’s Sier (PL) explorations with camera based, immersive, audio-visual environments. In this piece the viewer interacts with time debris of previous viewers scattered in 3D flowing space.

“Falling Angels”, de Isaac Carlos (NL)

Falling AngelsIsaac Carlos (NL) presents a modified version of his sound installation ‘Falling Angels’, which focuses on the poetics of sound where the unpredictable process of ice melting brings up an abstract composition emphasized by the motion detectors (sensors) mounted on the wall that supports the installation.

“Rave Kettle”, Torsten Lauschmann (UK)

Torsten. N.I.P. UK 2007New work by mixed media artist Torsten Lauschmann (UK), ‘Rave Kettle’, explores the nature of repetitive beats and their political meanings. The installation is a miniature rave in a kettle kitted out with music, a smoke machine and lights. Visitors are invited to ‘open’ the lid of the kettle to reveal a hidden external sound system, which pumps out the music, so that the internal becomes the external.

“Crackle Canvas”, TokTek (NL)

Toktek. N.I.P. UK 2007 Dutch visual and sound artist, TokTek, returns with his innovate ‘Crackle Canvas’ paintings. ‘Crackle Canvas’ uses STEIM’s crackle box hardware and can be ‘played’ singularly or connected with other paintings forms a ‘painting orchestra’. By connecting cables within or between paintings, the sound changes, while the cables length, colour and form, form a drawing on the wall or in the space where the paintings are hanging. For the Lisboa20 show, TokTek, will present a short ‘Crackle Canvas’ piece – a performance not to be missed!

ChristinaKubisch.de

Christina Kubisch is one of the leading pioneers in the sound art field. Her work has been described as the ‘synthesis of arts’ and she has since the 1970’s been experimenting with found objects, solar power and light to create various installation and performance works. Some of her best-known pieces have experimented with electromagnetic induction (eg ‘Electrical Walks series’) and using ultraviolet light as a compositional tool (eg works such as ‘Skylines’, ‘Klang Fluß Licht Quelle’ and ‘Licht Himmel’). Kubisch’s work has been shown work at major international exhibitions and festivals (Venice Benniale, documenta 8, Kassel, Ars Electronica) and her music has been realised on various labels such as Cramps Records and Edition RZ. She is currently Professor for Sound Art at the Academy of Fine Arts, Saarbrücken, Germany. This is a rare opportunity to hear Kubisch discuss the concepts behind her unique vision.
